Miss Bliss's birthday!

For my birthday, we decided to have a class party! The children played pass the parcel - complete with prizes, musical statues, Leka played me happy brithday on the yukelale and the class got to wear party hats and win prizes!

It was an excellent day and the children had lots of fun!

What a fantastic birthday!

Week 10, Term 2

The children had a go at publishing their Matariki recounts on the laptops. Typing is a hard skill to learn, but the children did so well and their writing was awesome! They practised using the space bar and doing capital letters. There was lots of team work involved as those more competent helped those who haven't had much practise.

Check out their finished work in our class library!

Music and Te Reo

The children are super lucky and every 2 weeks get to visit Miss A for Music lessons! They have learnt songs, clapped in rhythm, played musical instruments and found beats. The children always look forward to music and they have learnt so much already.

Every week for half an hour, the children learn Te Reo. They had fun learning about Maori Stick Games and about Maori Celebrations this week.

Week 7, Term 2

We are lucky enough to get free swimming lessons for one week a term. Learning to swim is extremely important at an early age, and can be life saving knowledge. All children should be taught to swim confidently. Room 5 absolutely loved swimming this term and it was nice to see their confidence and skills grow as the week progressed.
